As a dental professional, Carla’s approach has always been holistic. As an airway advocate, she has always emphasized mouth-body-overall health connection in her practice.
Throughout her professional career, she has met people (including herself) who have struggled with chronic cranio- facial pain and have been hitting obstacles when it comes to finding solutions. Her own personal myofunctional journey and her pursuit to help her clients have fueled her training and passion in the field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy in 2017.
With more than 23 years of extensive clinical experience in general dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, pediatrics, and special needs, Carla had the opportunity to collaborate with many excellent dental and health care professionals. This allowed her to have many different vantage points within the multifaceted world of dentistry, natural and holistic medicine, special needs, and neurodiversity as she connects them to Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.
Carla prides herself in providing comfortable, compassionate, and attentive care in a welcoming environment that is safe and non-judgmental. She provides a practice based on prioritizing clients’ overall well-being through individualized treatment, maximizing abilities, and empowerment. As an advocate, Carla is trained in communication with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and applies the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis in her approach in client care.
Carla continues to update herself with the most current research and development in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and airway-focused dentistry and medicine.
